In Ancient times, people used Stars for their Direction Guide. Especially Polar Stars are more helpful. But, famous is Northern Polar Star. This Star changes every 4,000 years. Let's see about it.
Northern Polar Star is a famous Star. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere only you'll notice it. The actual name of the Northern Polar Star is POARIS, only few people knows its original name. This name is derived from Latin. It's full name is Stellar Polaris which means, A Star is present in the Poles of Earth. Now, only few people knows about this Star. But, in Ancient times is is an important Star. If you take a long exposure shot with Polaris as a center, you'll notice that many Stars revolves around it. Because, Polaris is exactly straight to the North Pole. Polaris is the 48th brightest Star. However it is not much brighter,
Polaris is not a single Star, It is a Triplet Star System. It is at a distance of 430 Light Years from Our Earth. If you take a fastest moving Space Ship, You will reach that Star after 1.5 million Years. In that Triplet Star System, Polaris-A is the brightest and easily visible to us. Polaris-Ab is a White Dwarf Star, it is very near to Polaris-A. Polaris-B is little away from Polaris-A and Polaris-Ab. Polaris-Ab and Polaris-B is 1.5 times greater than Sun. Polaris-A is 50 times greater than and 2500 times brighter than our Sun. The mass of Polaris is 37 Solar Masses. Our Sun is a Yellow Dwarf and the Polaris is Yellow Super Giant. The surface temperature of the Sun and the Polaris is almost equal, 6000°C. Polaris is younger than Sun. The age of Polaris is 70 million years.
